At R & J Landscaping, our lawn Aeration process consists of punching ¾” holes in the ground while pulling a plug of grass, thatch, and soil to the surface. This process does many things; relieves compaction, creates channels for better air and water movement, and promotes good healthy turf. The cores are left on the ground surface which acts as a type of topdressing. The topdressing also helps to cut down on thatch.
While we are aerating we like to recommend a heavy application of organic fertilizer which helps your lawn in many ways. With some lawn and soil types we may recommend two aerations with organic fertilizer applications or our Overseeding program which includes lawn aeration.
